NJOY Takes Important Steps Regarding Electronic Cigarettes
NJOY is a leading global electronic cigarette brand. This company is calling on other companies to adopt better standards for using and preventing the access of electronic cigarettes products by persons that are under the legal age to smoke.
Electronic cigarettes tobacco products are a good alternative for adult committed cigarettes smokers. Jack Leadbeater from NJOY concluded that they don’t have any interest in marketing their products to underage smokers and that they had taken many steps to prevent young persons to buy their products. They hope that other companies of their industry would act with more responsibility and would follow their own example. It would be ideal if other companies would follow either their plan or find even more interesting methods to accomplish that goal. All of those actions would ensure a better product use.
Electronic cigarettes have a price that most young persons can not afford it. It wasn’t proved the fact that young persons use the electronic cigarettes so often. But after a while there appeared some problems regarding the demand of various flavors by young smokers.
To solve the flavor issue, NJOY decided to forbidden in the U.S the availability of all flavors with the exception of its traditional tobacco flavor and menthol. Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act is a new project of NJOY, regarding the problem that we talked above. NJOY plans its new flavor policy to be applied throughout its distribution channels by spring 2010.
NJOY makes a lot of efforts to limit the demand of its products to the underage smokers. Since NJOY first introduced E-cigarettes to North America and later in the other countries of the world it had taken many steps that include:
- The company always requires their consumers that visit their web site to verify their age before using the site and during the ecommerce process. The company even has databases that can better assess the age of a site visitor.
- There are strict sale restrictions for retailers that are carrying the tobacco product regarding the combustible cigarette.
- NJOY has its own independent distributors and they are required to sign contracts where it is specified that they will sell the products only to the persons that have above the legal age of smoking.
- NJOY product labeling expresses clearly that the product is destined for smokers of legal age to smoke and encourages consumers to avoid smoking tobacco products if they have not started yet.
There is no person that can ever guarantee 100% that their products will be used as it was planned from the beginning. For example 90 percent of the present smokers affirmed that they have started before 18 years old, despite all the efforts that were made to prevent the underage smoking cigarettes.
Jack Leadbeater said that they will do everything possible to prevent the using of tobacco products by the young persons, because has kids too and he doesn’t want them to smoke. His company is trying to find a positive solution to this problem for society and they will continue what they have started. The company will give a better choice to cigarette smokers of legal age to satisfy their pleasure.
